Abalone Noir burns fuchsia through black and then opens windows in it. Three nails carry a large iridescent panel - green, lilac and blue moving under the surface - held inside a frame of raised silver that spreads outward in roots. The rest take fine silver linework drawn in long parallel strands, carved ridges along one edge, and on one nail a row of flat black circles that read like ports in a hull.

MATERIAL DETAILS
At least five hand-applied layers of soft gel. The fuchsia is laid beneath the black and burned through by hand, the iridescent panels are set and then framed in piped silver, and the edge ridges are carved while the gel is part-set.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Apply to clean, dry nails. Keep away from long hot soaks and wear gloves for cleaning. Remove with cuticle oil and warm water, lifting from the side - never pry, and never use acetone. Store flat so the panel frames stay intact.

No. They are iridescent decorative panels that shift colour under the surface, framed in silver-toned gel.

Will my bleed pattern match the photo?
Not exactly. The fuchsia is burned through the black while both are wet, so it settles differently each time.

Is the silver raised?
The frames are, clearly. The fine parallel strands are much flatter - you can feel them but barely.
